Get to know the people behind the products – introducing Kev and Marnie, from Hang Loose Caravan & Camping Accessories.
We first got into caravanning in 2004, when we bought a Jayco camping trailer. We’d always loved camping, and as the kids came along – we made the transition to camper trailer and then a family van. It was more convenient, especially when the kids were toddlers, and the whole family was hooked. Even a lap around Australia together didn’t dampen our love of caravanning!

The first product Kev dreamed up was the towel hook – making an initial “prototype” from a few pieces of steel we had lying around. And how did he get the idea? It all comes back to the kids!
The kids would leave towels laying around or try and hang them over the awning arms, which would always end up with them falling off into the dirt. The towel hook proved to work really well – towels would stay on the hooks, even in a good breeze. This then led to the design of the pegs.
“I found it annoying trying to find a place to put up a rope clothesline – sometimes you wouldn’t be camped near any trees to tie a clothesline to. I thought there has to be a better solution to this.”
So he came up with one – custom-made pegs!
The tie down strap was just a follow on from this, using the same idea to have something that was simple, cost effective and easy to use.
After about a decade of coming up with simple but effective caravan accessories for our own family trips, we decided to start Hang Loose Caravan & Camping Accessories – to provide these simple, yet successful, products to everyone who is into caravanning.
